Terms of use
The service
Flitdot sends links, notes, files, texts, notifications and clipboards between your own devices, end-to-end encrypted. It's in early access: free for now, still changing, and offered without a guaranteed level of availability. By creating an account you accept these terms and the privacy policy.
Your account and your keys
You sign in with a code sent to your email. Your encryption keys stay on your devices, and your recovery key is the only way back in if you lose all of them. We can't recover your data without it: keep it somewhere safe. You're responsible for the devices you pair and for the API tokens you create; revoke any you no longer trust.
Your content
What you send stays yours. We can't read it, and we only store and relay it so it reaches your devices.
Fair use
Don't use Flitdot to:
- break the law, or store or send content that's illegal where you are;
- send spam or messages to people who didn't ask for them;
- attack, overload or probe the service, or get around its limits;
- access other people's accounts or devices.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it.
Availability and liability
We work to keep Flitdot running and your data safe, but during early access it's provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect losses, or for content lost because a device, its keys or the recovery key were lost. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country.
Ending
You can delete your account at any time (see the privacy policy). If we ever shut Flitdot down, we'll tell you at least 30 days before, so you can export your history.
Changes
If these terms change, the new version goes on this page with a new date. Significant changes are announced in the apps before they apply.
Law
These terms are governed by French law. If you're a consumer, you can also rely on the courts and protections of the country where you live.
